How do I measure my dachshund?

Use a soft tape while they stand. Back length runs from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Chest goes around the deepest part, just behind the front legs. Neck goes where a collar sits.

See where the tape goes or open the fit finder.

Why are my harness and coat sizes different?

Harnesses are sized by chest and coats by back length. On a long dog the two often land in different sizes. That's normal.

What if my dachshund is between sizes?

Email us a side-on photo and the three measurements, and we'll recommend a size. For harnesses, the chest matters most.

Do your sizes fit miniatures and standards?

Yes. We size for miniatures, standards and everyone in between. The fit finder tells you which size to pick.

Should my dachshund stand or sit while I measure?

Standing, head up and looking forward. A treat held just in front of the nose helps.

Do you make gear for other breeds?

No. We design for dachshunds only.

Why a harness instead of a collar?

On a collar, every pull lands on the neck and throat. A Y-front harness takes it on the chest, and vets recommend a harness for dogs with back or neck problems.

How do returns work?

Everything is in our returns policy. Not sure about a size? Ask us before you order.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Is checkout secure?

Yes. Checkout runs on Shopify, with the payment methods you already use.

Is a harness OK for a dachshund with back problems?

A harness keeps the pull off the neck, which is why we use one. Every back is different, though. If your dog has had back or neck problems, ask your vet which setup suits them.

How can I look after my dachshund's back?

Daily exercise and a lean body are sensible habits, though nothing fully prevents IVDD: it's mostly genetic. The most useful thing is to know the early signs and see a vet fast.
